Cycle Angkor to Saigon - Bike tour in Cambodia & Vietnam

Bike tour in Cambodia & Vietnam
16 days Siem Reap to Saigon - trip code APKS09
US$2350 (single room optional for US$590)
“Cycle from the Angkor Temples through Phnom Penh, southern Cambodia, Phu Quoc and the Mekong Delta to Saigon.”

The temples of Angkor arouse images of ancient kingdoms, temples hidden by jungle and the mystery of the rise and fall of civilizations. Justified in their fame, the Angkor temples in Cambodia have become a must see destination.

There is however, so much more to Cambodia than temples. Friendly people, great hospitality, picturesque countryside, vibrant cities and relaxing beaches are some other great reasons to come and see this country by bike.

We cross to Vietnam and after some time at the truly beautiful Phu Quoc Island, we cycle through the fascinating Mekong Delta, where the activity never stops and the leafy canal lanes provide some of the best cycling in the country.

Itinerary
Day 1 | Siem Reap
Our staff will greet you at the airport and help you to check into the hotel, you then have some time to explore Siem Reap town before dinner with the group and a chance to learn a little from your guide about Cambodian culture and customs.
Days 2-3 | Cycling Angkor Wat and Beng Melea
We take a day to explore the temple highlights, including Ta Prom, famously covered in giant tree roots, and the word famous Angkor Wat. We then ride to Beng Melea a far flung, moss covered temple that only the most adventurous travellers visit. We then head to Kampong Thom, provincial capital and trading point for many surrounding districts.
Days 4-5 | Kampong Cham and Phnom Penh
Two days of fun filled riding on quiet roads and dirt trails takes us past an abandoned US-Airstrip and into Kampong Cham. We get our first glimpse of the Mekong River as we ride through Cham Muslim communities and into the cambodian capital Phnom Penh.
Days 6-7 | Rest in Phnom Penh then cycle south
Take some time out for a rest in Phnom Penh. Explore markets, get a massage, or learn about the dark events of Cambodia's recent history under the Khmer Rouge Regime. we then set off to the south and find ourselves in Takeo, a sleepy provincial town.
Day 8 | Cycle to Kep
After a fantastic ride through southern Cambodia past limestone hills and rice fields punctuated by coconut trees, we reach the seaside town of Kep. Here, the Colonial-era buildings are in varying states of repair, the air is cooler and the seafood delicious.
Days 9-11 | Phu Quoc
We cross into Vietnam at a sleepy check point and then take a boat to stunning Phu Quoc Island where we stay three nights on this little visited but stunning island with beaches and forests to explore and massages to be had.
Days 12-13 | Chau Doc, Long Xuyen
After a boat ride back to the mainland and a drive to start us in the right direction, we first trace the Vietnam-Cambodia border to Chau Doc, famous for its fish sauces, then we cycle the lanes and canal paths into Long Xuyen, a booming Vietnamese city.
Days 14-16 | Can Tho, Cu Chi and Saigon
More fantastic Delta riding as we zig zag our way on small paths through the Delta. We reach Can Tho, a university town with a vibrant riverfront. We explore the floating markets, then head for Cu Chi Tunnels and Saigon, the bustling commercial capital of Vietnam.
