5 days Bangkok to Ko Samui - trip code GHTC10
US$890 (single room optional for US$165)
Travelling south and looking for a more interesting way to reach the islands of Thailand? Why not take the slow road and cycle with us on this relatively easy 4 day ride that follows the south, takes back roads, passes through national parks and takes it all in. So much better than flying and missing all the interesting places along the way!

Itinerary
Day 1 | Bangkok to Pranburi | Cycle 34km
After picking you up from your hotel in Bangkok it is 2-3 hours transfer to Hua Hin and the start of your ride. Today's ride is an easy ride following back roads through small towns and along quiet coastline. In Pranburi you'll stay in a comfortable resort right on the coast, well away from the bustle of Bangkok where you started the day.
Day 2 | Cycle to Prachuap Khiri Khan | Cycle 68km
More quiet back roads and beaches await on this great day of riding. A highlight of the day is cycling past the stark limestone mountains of Sam Roi Yot National Park. If you are really lucky you might spot monkeys hanging out on the rocks. Prachuap Khiri Khan sits on a beautiful curved beach and is a small relaxing provincial town which few tourists bother to visit - this to us makes for a perfect bike tour place to stay!
Day 3 | Cycle to Ban Krut | Cycle 70km
Leaving Prachuap is a treat as we cycle through an airforce base and over their runway to visit a colony of gentle langur monkeys. A little further down the road we stop at Waghor Aquarium, an amazing centre that displays the wonders of the underwater world that is right of the coast that you are cycling by. Passing through the narrowest part of Thailand - only 11km wide - you can see a ridge on your right that marks the border with Myanmar. Riding on you be on a mix of sealed and unsealed road passing fishing villages on your way to Ban Krut and another lovely resort on the coast.
Day 4 | Cycle to Chumphon | Cycle 50km
Today's ride will take you alongside more beautiful coastline and beaches but also through plantations of fruit and rubber. We'll make a stop at one rubber plantation to learn about the long process of taking the sap of the tree and turning it into car tyres and condoms. The ride ends at lunch and then we transfer to Chumphon, just north of the main town and ferry where you'll enjoy a last night on the Thai mainland.
Day 5 | Ferry to the Islands
It's an early morning to make it in time for the morning ferry to the island of your choice: Ko Tao, Ko Phanngan or Ko Samui. When you arrive at the island we have a transfer arranged to take you to your hotel. If you would like to return to Hua Hin or Bangkok we can transfer you in our support vehicle.

Feedback and Reviews
"
Everything was perfect - great bikes & equipment. All meals were amazing, accommodation clean and comfortable. The route was perfect - varied, interesting, loved the flat parts and learned skills to tackle the few small hills. But the very best part was the people. It felt like we had all completed a personality test in advance and you grouped us together accordingly...as everyone got on incredibly well and we became very good friends instantly. And I can not praise your staff enough. Bunma & Eet were excellent drivers, always ready with a smile, polite and helpful - filling up our water bottles and making sure we had plenty of delicious snacks at every stop. Seen and Tik are of course just incredible, extraordinary tour guides. I do not think they realise how remarkable they are and how much they enhanced our holiday. They were always on the lookout for interesting things to point out and provided us with lots of stories, details and history. We felt totally looked after at all times and while we were in their hands all we needed to do was sleep eat and cycle. They looked after everything else."
