Bangkok's Chinatown is one of the busiest areas of the city. The laneways are full of people, motorbikes, goods moving back and forth and now Grasshopper cyclists. Riding into this mayhem is possible because of the careful route planning that goes into all our trips.
You will ride quiet back streets, through tiny lanes, and into the busy markets that make Bangkok's Chinatown one of the best in the world. This is a ride for all the senses!
Itinerary
Meet at the Grasshopper Adventures Shop near Khao San Rd just before 1pm. After a quick bike fitting and briefing we head out. We will taking a winding route into Chinatown, you see the Chinese side of the city gradually increasing as we get further into the heart of Chinatown. Once in Chinatown we will ride through the twisting mess of alleyways. Expect lots of narrow paths full of people and goods - we sometimes need to be patient as the roads become blocked by the people moving in both directions. Out the other side we pass the Pak Klong Dalat vegetable market and then pass the Grand Palace on our way back to the Grasshopper Shop.
The tour should take 4 hours but each group is slightly different in speed.

This tour operates everyday at 1pm. If you have a group of 4 or more we can also run this trip in the morning (subject to availability).

If you are coming via the Chao Phraya Express Boat it is a 15 minute walk or short tuk tuk ride from Phra Athit Pier. It is worth printing the map below to show a taxi driver if you choose to come by taxi. Bear in mind that you will be travelling during peak hour so if travelling form the downtown area you should allow at least one hour to get here.

Cycling Conditions
We cycle about 12km on flat city streets and busy laneways in Chinatown. Due to the narrow paths in Chinatown we don't recommend this tour for complete beginner riders. You should be able to comfortably control a bicycle to do this tour.
