Download our unique Self-guided Tour App, collect your bicycle and guide yourself around the fascinating city of Phnom Penh on two-wheels. Cycle the city highlights and its lesser-known locations, following our map and audio guide from your phone. The specially designed Self-guided Tour App allows you to stop your bike whenever you choose at one of the many points of interest along the suggested route to take in the sights and experiences around the city.

This 13km cycling route delivers a unique look into the wonderfully chaotic metropolis of Phnom Penh, giving you a fascinating insight into the workings and character of this bustling city and showing you iconic heritage buildings and locations essential to Phnom Penh life. Check out interesting locally-grown initiatives, and take our recommendations for the best local eateries to fuel up for your ride. Tour Itinerary

Start Time: 8 am – End Time: 6 pm

Gather at the Grasshopper Shop
Your tour will begin at the Grasshopper Adventures Office. You are free to pick your own start time (until 3.00pm). Please bring your fully charged mobile device, as well as any personal camera and sunscreen. We recommend that you wear active sports clothing or at least something light and comfortable. Please dress considerately, as you may like to visit a temple, in which case you should have your shoulders and knees covered.

Our helpful staff will assist you in downloading our self-guided App onto your mobile device, if you do not have a device available, please ask at the shop to use one of our own (at an additional rental fee of USD $5).

Our staff will then issue you with your perfectly sized bicycle and helmet, then give a clear cycle and road safety talk before you begin. Please listen carefully.

Once you leave the Grasshopper shop, the adventure is in your hands. We have provided "20+ points of Interest" to choose from on our 13km cycling route. After hearing our audio introduction, you can visit them all, stopping to explore and immerse yourself in Cambodian life, or only visit the few that pique your interest. Take a break from cycling wherever you please, it's your tour.

This tour can be completed in as little as 2 hours, or it can take you all day! Take from our knowledge and experience in Phnom Penh to formulate your ideal cycling tour as you pedal through the streets of Cambodia’s fascinating capital city.

Ideal start time.
You are free to choose your own start time. But there are preferable times of day that we would recommend to avoid 'rush hour' and riding in the dark. 8am - 9am is 'rush hour' in the city, and you do not have lights on your bike so it's safe to be back before it gets dark at 6pm.

This tour is available from 0700am - 1500pm, every day of the week.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

This tour is designed to give you a unique insight into the interesting workings of this chaotic, vibrant city. Our designed route shows you what life is like in the Cambodian capital. Listen to our audio information and choose stops along this route that interest you.

Take control of your own tour, with the help of the Grasshopper Adventures' Self Guided App. Our helpful shop staff will assist you to simply download the app and tour onto your mobile device, then it is over to you. Our Phnom Penh Self Guided tour includes "20+ points of Interest", that are all potential stops to explore along your journey, it's up to you where you go! Headphones are recommended to listen to the audio information, but we strongly advise against riding with them. Please note that a fully charged battery on your mobile device is very important for this tour. If your battery is low, please let our staff know and they will provide you with a power bank for your adventure.

We provide well maintained, top quality imported GT mountain bikes with hydraulic disc brakes, a helmet and reusable sports water bottle for you to explore the city. These bikes come with a secure phone holder and a bike lock.

Please do not worry if you do not have a mobile device with you. It is possible to use one of ours. We have preloaded mobile devices available for rent at the Grasshopper Adventures Shop.

Follow the App to the best spots to grab a bite and keep your energy up! We include the locations of interesting local snacks, hip cafes and the best coffee- let your appetite choose the stop.
