Overview
Away from the drawcard attractions, Bohol presents a picturesque pastiche of rural Pinoy life, replete with nipa shacks, water buffalo, spectacular rice terraces, and of course coconut palm-fringed beaches and super friendly Boholanos!
We mostly cycle on quiet, paved roads (with the odd pothole), although there are a few short stretches on busier main roads and bumpy tracks.
The 7000+ islands of the Philippines mean that the country has endless micro-climates. Although Bohol has a vague “dry season” during the summer, this is also the hottest and least comfortable time to ride. In reality Bohol receives rainfall around the year, but November to February is the best time to cycle as temperatures tend to be a little cooler. This said, to see the Chocolate Hills burnished brown, a summer visit is recommended!
