Tour Itinerary
Start Time: 5:30 pm – End Time: 9:30 pm
Gather at the Grasshopper Shop
Meet at the Grasshopper Adventures Shop near MRT Sam Yot Station at 5:30 pm. The night tour will depart at 6 pm sharp, so make sure you allow plenty of time to get here, accounting for peak hour traffic. After a quick bike fitting and briefing, it's time to hit the bikes. We’ll avoid main roads by pedaling our way through small laneways, past ancient temples and canals to see the heart and soul of Bangkok.
Cycle and ferry to Wat Arun
After passing through Thammasat University, we cross the Chao Phraya River by ferry. Crossing the river around sunset provides quite lovely views. Once across, we cycle quiet back roads to Wat Arun, the Temple of the Dawn. At night, Wat Arun is spectacularly illuminated and free of the throngs of day tourists so you can enjoy the serene ambiance of the temple.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The visit to Wat Arun during this tour is currently on hold due to a change in the temple's operating hours. The tour participants will be taken to see another attraction instead to avoid any impact on the tour duration and riding distance. This is a temporary solution, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Visit the Flower Market
The next unforgettable stop is the world-famous Bangkok flower market, the largest wholesale flower market in Thailand. After crossing the Chao Phraya bridge, we stop at the flower market which is at its busiest this time of night and an exciting show of color and activity. On the walk through, your guide will treat you to some of Thailand’s famous street food.
Wat Pho
Next on the route is Wat Pho, the renowned Temple of the Reclining Buddha. While the reclining Buddha is not visible to visitors in the evening, the temple grounds are truly magical, with beautifully illuminated chedi spires covered in porcelain mosaics. Explore the peaceful temple grounds in the cool evening air - a vastly different scene from the noisy crowds found here during the day, almost like having a privileged private tour.
Return to the Grasshopper Shop
Biking on past the Grand Palace, we find ourselves in Sanam Luang from which we can see the sparkling chedis of the palace. We pedal through the back streets of Bangkok’s historic old city to finish the evening’s bike tour back at our shop near MRT Sam Yot Station.
The night bike tour usually takes 3-4 hours but is variable by group. Dinner is not included in the night tour but we do include some fun and tasty street food snacks in the flower market.

GUEST REVIEWS
Our family loved this nighttime tour of Bangkok’s beautiful temples, flower market, and off the beaten path neighborhoods. The street food we tried was delicious. We felt like this was a great way to see an authentic piece of Bangkok we wouldn’t normally visit.

Dad and I took a night tour around Bangkok under the guidance of Kan, and what an experience! Kan was knowledgable, fun, and took us to many amazing spots. We enjoyed real Thai street food and drink, went through the bustling flower market, and enjoyed Wat Arun and Wat Pho without the crowds and heat of the day. At night it was even more magical with all the bright lights and having the temples practically to ourselves.
The ride itself is very easy - you don't have to be fit to enjoy this tour! If you have Kan as your guide it will make it even better.

Loved this tour, was great seeing parts pf Bangkok that I never knew existed, even after many visits there! Loved the narrow pathways of the Portuguese quarter and visiting the temples at night when the heat and crowds were not there. Tammy was an acknowledgeable guide.

I found a few areas where I’d love to go and explore some more thanks to this tour. Wouldn’t have seen or known about them otherwise.

Seeing Bangkok by night was also a treat. Our guide, Woody, was great. He made sure that we were safe as a group and stayed together. He had great insight into the history of the sites and also bought several local snacks for us to try!
