Gather at the Garden on the left hand side of Areiksart Ferry Port

MEETING POINT: We meet at 7:45 at the Garden on the left hand side of Areiksart Ferry Port. After a short safety briefing and bike fitting, we'll make our way to the ferry departure point to begin our cycling adventure.

Ferries & Cycling

We'll cross the river by ferry boat, making our way towards the north of Phnom Penh and the Silk Islands. Back on land, we enjoy a scenic and relaxing 20-25km ride through Cham Muslim communities on quiet back roads. The leisurely cycling is interspersed with some additional short ferry rides to reach the Mekong Islands and navigate among them. On the islands, we'll cycle through orchards and market gardens, enjoying the peaceful farmland and learning about the lives of the people who call the Silk Islands home. Along the way, we’ll park our bikes for some interesting cultural stops as we check out traditional village industries and get a better sense of authentic Cambodian life on these islands. This specially-crafted cycling route is sure to provide an informative and memorable cultural experience that will leave you with wonderful memories of Phnom Penh.

A delicious local lunch of authentic regional Khmer food is included in the bike tour along with fresh fruit and water provided through the journey.

After making our way back from the islands by ferry, you can expect to return to Phnom Penh around 12:30pm.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

This is a real back roads route with lots of unsealed village roads. Enjoy a bike tour that will take you to a very different Phnom Penh from that seen by the majority of tourists for some authentic cultural exploration.

Quality, well maintained imported GT mountain bikes with full hydraulic disc brakes a helmet and reusable sports water bottle are provided.

An experienced English speaking, local leader will host you on this trip who is well spoken, very well informed, and charming. Our leaders are often cited as being the main highlight of the tour. We use local guides who have a passion for their country and are always well informed on topics ranging from history, politics, cuisine and importantly local customs and cultures. Our leaders will take pride in introducing you to every aspect of their country while looking out for your safety and comfort at all times.

A delicious local lunch is included. Snacks, fruit and clean water are also provided throughout the tour.

This tour is guaranteed for a minimum of just 1 traveler. And we limit the group size to only 10 travelers so that you get all the attention you want in an intimate group.

Good experience. My guide was Nary, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The countryside was beautiful and I got to see a side to Phnom Penh I otherwise wouldn't have. One thing to note is that if you're not accustomed to the heat and humidity, it might be more draining than a 20k ride would normally be. All in all, a rewarding experience.

I had a very pleasanr day riding on trails with Grasshopper Adventures with my guide Vichet. We crossed the Mekong River by ferry and then rode the trails around the island stopping off at a silk farm. Very enlightening. We rode about 25 km seeing the rural side of Phnom Penh and then re-crossed the river on a different ferry. To end, had a Cambodian lunch . Can recomemend this the the experienced rider.

My husband and I really enjoyed this bike tour. Vichet and Pun were very fun to talk to and were also very knowledgeable guides. We were equipped with good mountain bikes, helmets, and water. We had a snack of fresh fruit before learning about silk weaving (which was amazing!). We were able to take our time there. The ride overall was not too difficult. The trail was dirt most of the time with some rocky areas. It was pretty hot!! At the end of the ride, we were given cold towels to wipe our face, cold water, and a delicious Khmer lunch. The whole activity took us from 8-1.
