Explore Phnom Penh like a true local on an afternoon guided adventure through the city. Meet up with our friendly team of local expert guides for a walking tour of the lesser known side of Phnom Penh and some of its popular highlights. Beginning our tour in the mid-afternoon puts us in good stead to explore Phnom Penh during this relatively quiet and cool time. This tour is designed to give you an insight into the locals’ perspective of Phnom Penh, while also taking you to some of the must-sees.

Starting at the Grasshopper Adventures shop, we make our way around the city using a mix of local transport and walking. This tour has something for everyone, with visits to local markets, street food stands, religious shrines and the Royal Palace. With no two days the same in Phnom Penh, we have a flexible itinerary to show our guests the best side of each unique day, while ensuring every adventure is a unique and exciting one!

Gather at the Grasshopper Shop

Meet at the centrally located Grasshopper Adventure shop at 2:15 pm for a 2:30 pm tour start. You will meet your local expert guide who will be with you for your afternoon of exploring the locals' version of Phnom Penh.

Each day is different on this tour, with traffic, weather and events changing daily we are keeping things flexible to ensure every day is an action-packed adventure that makes the most of your visit to Phnom Penh. With our experience in Phnom Penh, you are guaranteed an interesting and unique tour. Each tour will start with a local mode of transport, either tuk-tuk or cyclo, which will be used interchangeably with walking to get us around the city in the afternoon.

Every tour includes two key stops including Wat Phnom and the Royal Palace, but each extra minute is made up of exploring the lesser known Phnom Penh, too! Explore local markets, Khmer street stalls, local style coffee and other hidden secrets. Immerse yourself in authentic Phnom Penh life on this walking tour of Cambodia’s fascinating capital.

The walking tour finishes at a famous Phnom Penh park, which is frequented by hundreds of locals who use dance as their evening exercise, the perfect spot to finish up a great afternoon and even join in the dancing for some serious fun. From the park, your guide can help arrange an onward tuk-tuk transfer either back to your hotel or to some of our recommended night eateries.
