Angkor Pass:
You will need an Angkor Pass for this tour. If you don't already have one, you can purchase one upon entry to the Angkor Zone on the morning of the tour.

Gather at the Grasshopper Shop

Meet at The Grasshopper Shop at 7:15am, 9B Benoit Street, Borey Prem Prey (next to Natt Coffee), Bring your camera, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable cycling clothes. We will start our ride out towards the main temple area at 7:30 along a small road to temples.

Cycle the Angkor Temples

The first temple we visit is the majestic Angkor Wat. We then cycle the main circuit road and just as we enter Angkor Thom, we leave the road and spend the rest of the day on charming, quiet trails through these imposing structures. We visit Bayon, famous for its many faces and The Elephant Terrace while our lunch is prepared. After a tasty local lunch, we visit Ta Prohm, the crumbling structure that has been swallowed by the jungle. Along the way, we’ll stop at each site for some history and exploration of these incredible ancient structures. From Ta Prohm, we ride a red dirt road and then some great small tracks back to town. You can expect to return to town around 4:30 pm after a satisfying day of taking in the temples at the relaxed pace of cycling.

Please note: Appropriate dress (knees and shoulders fully covered) is compulsory for entry into certain sections of Angkor Wat, and should also be observed throughout all temple areas for reasons of cultural sensitivity.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Visit one of the world's greatest archaeological parks. We see the main sights of Angkor Wat, The Bayon and Ta Prohm as part of our tour, in addition to some smaller less-visited sites.

While we take you to see many of the iconic temples of the Angkor Archeological Park, our means of travel is half the fun. We ride the back roads and hidden dirt trails to escape the crowds and bus tourists. Get off the beaten track with this day of cycling.

Quality, well maintained imported GT mountain bikes with full hydraulic disc brakes a helmet and reusable sports water bottle are provided.

An experienced English speaking, local leader will host you on this trip who is well spoken, very knowledgeable, and charming. Our leaders are often cited as being the main highlight of the tour. We use local guides who have a passion for their country and are always well informed on topics ranging from history, politics, cuisine and importantly local customs and cultures. Our leaders will take pride in introducing you to every aspect of their country while looking out for your comfort and safety at all times.

A delicious local lunch is included. Snacks, fruit and clean water are also provided throughout the tour.

This tour is guaranteed for a minimum of just 1 traveler. And we limit the group size to a maximum of 10 travelers so you get all the attention you want in an intimate group.

We booked this trip after reading a really good review on Culture trip website. We really wanted to go to Angkor Watt and see the Temples but wanted to try and avoid the crowds. I booked the activity online a few days before. Very easy & accessible website.

Our guide Sambo was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and all the temples he took us too. His English was very good.

Cycling around all day was very hot but not tiring as you got to take breaks along the way. Visiting temples and other landmarks. We stopped at a great local place for lunch which was a range of tasty local khmer dishes. Water is also provided throughout the day!

Our group consisted of around d 6-8 people. And our guide Sambo was leading at the front with another guide at the back. The cycle was easy and mostly flat ground.

When we arrived back at Grasshopper HQ we were greeted with ice cold towels and a refreshing coconut drink as well as AIR CON! Best money spent. Staff and guides were all fantastic and helpful.

Angkor Wat is unavoidably crowded, but being on a bicycle allowed us to escape the crowds at least some of the time. It was fun cycling roads and trails between temples and was also a good way to keep (somewhat) cool in the 100 degree heat. The bike tour provided decent stops for water and food. Our guide's English could be improved but that's to be expected, and communication overall was more than acceptable. Definitely worth the money.
